European Court of Human Rights Condemns Russia in Three Cases from Chechnya

The European Court of Human Rights today unanimously condemned Russia for a violation of the right to life in three cases from Chechnya, Russian Justice Initiative said today. Two cases concern the disappearance of four men in Chechnya in October 2000 and January 2001.

European Court of Human Rights Condemns Russia in Three Disappearance Cases from Chechnya and Ingushetia

The European Court of Human Rights today unanimously condemned Russia for enforced disappearances in one case from Ingushetia and two cases from Chechnya, Russian Justice Initiative said today. The cases concern the disappearances of five persons in different locations in Chechnya and Ingushetia between 2000 and 2002. Today's judgment in the case of Khalidova is the first disappearance case from Ingushetia being decided by the European Court of Human Rights.

The 10,000th judgment of the European Court of Human Rights Condemns Russia for disappearance in Chechnya

The European Court of Human Rights today announced its 10,000th judgment, Takhayeva and Others v. Russia (no. 23286/04), which unanimously condemned Russia for the enforced disappearance of a twenty-year-old man in Chechnya in November 2002, Russian Justice Initiative said today.
